Pallas Code of Ethics formulates the attitudes and principles underlying the ethical behavior of the membership and agreements for handling ethical conflicts.
Based on the Code of Ethics a permanent Ethics Committee has been established to ensure continuity and transparency. The committee includes representatives from all levels: vice rector for academic affairs, head of department, academic staff, support staff and a student.
Ethics Committee (since January 2025):
– Lennart Mänd (Chairperson, representative of the management),
– Kurmo Konsa (representative of the academic staff),
– Pille Johanson (representative of the academic staff),
– Katri Kütt (representative of the support and administrative staff),
– Enlil Sonn (Chair of the Student Union).
The working principles of the Ethics Committee, the organization of its activities, and the procedure for handling suspicions or complaints are set out in the Code of Ethics.
In the event of a suspected violation, those involved may try to resolve the situation themselves, seek advice from a colleague, head of department, HR manager or management, and, if necessary, notify the Ethics Committee in writing, who will handle the case further. There is also the opportunity to report unethical behavior anonymously here.
