DEPARTMENT OF FURNITURE

Curriculum: Interior Product Design. Master the essential tools and processes of design to become a product designer with an applied higher education! Create future trends and shape living environments with products that move from problem to solution.

General information

Objectives:

provide high-quality applied higher education in the field of product design with a specialisation in interior products;

ensure the training of professionals with professional skills in line with labour market requirements, who are competent to realise the objectives set in the field of product design independently and/or in teamwork;

develop in learners a comprehensive understanding of the role of art and design in society, with an open mind to innovative challenges;

develop the student’s skills of independent learning and raise awareness of the need for professional development and continuing training;

ensure, based on the international experience in higher education, the openness of the curriculum to change and developments in today’s dynamic world and the competence of the student to continue studies in the Master’s programme.

Learning outcomes

Upon completion of the curriculum, the student will be a specialist who will:

be able to analyse and realise their role in the division of labour in product development, both as an individual entrepreneur and as a team member, as well as in collaboration with professionals from other fields;

be familiar with the different materials required for the work, have the necessary traditional and innovative technologies and be able to apply them in compliance with the principles of environmental sustainability and sustainability;

be able to formulate and analyse problems, set objectives, plan work and time for this purpose, communicate ideas and involve different parties in the process;

have basic knowledge of drawing, painting, colour theory and composition, and of composition and modelling of surfaces and forms;

have a basic knowledge of philosophy, cultural, artistic and professional history, visual semiotics, pedagogy and business;

comprehend the impact of design both on the individual and in the broader context of society, with analytical, synthetic and critical skills and a sense of social responsibility;

be able to explore the different aspects of a specific task under the specific requirements of the artistic field.
