sTARTUp Day 2025 festival area is designed by Pallas students

Students from Pallas University of Applied Sciences will once again contribute to the design of the sTARTUp Day festival area. This year, they are responsible for the photo wall, the pitching stage, and the information monitor zone. In addition, Pallas will have its own stand in the demo area, presenting study opportunities, collaborative projects, and student creations.

The creative concept for sTARTUp Day 2025 is built around rock – not just as a music genre but as a mindset. The designs created by Pallas students support the festival’s message by blending classic rock’n’roll, punk, and glam, creating a unique atmosphere where every visitor can feel like a rock star and dare to dream big.

Pallas has collaborated with sTARTUp Day for five years. Preparations for the design work began already in autumn as part of a course led by Jaanika Tork from Pallas and Elena Aulis, Creative Director of sTARTUp Day. This year’s project involves students from the departments of textile, leather design, furniture, media design, and photography.

Designs prioritise sustainability, using recycled, recyclable, or borrowed materials to minimise waste and inspire others to find smart solutions.

Participating students are: Ursula Anton, Kaisa Benga, Johanna Liisa Eichenbaum, Anett Holter, Lisete Jõepera, Ksenia Kvitko, Helena-Mai Posti, Rahel Rebane, and Ott Villem Vackermann.

sTARTUp Day, which brings thousands of entrepreneurship enthusiasts to Tartu, will focus this year on defence technology and science-based entrepreneurship. Among the speakers will be Pallas photography alumna Anna Hints and sculpture alumna Iris Müntel.

sTARTUp Day will take place at the University of Tartu Sports Hall on 29–31 January.
