Mood-Performance-Tants 2026 in Tartu’s St. John’s Church

MOOD-PERFORMANCE-Tants
11’TH OF JUNE 2026 @TARTU
ST. JOHN’S CHURCH

Mood-Performance-Tants, organised by the Pallas University of Applied Sciences (Pallas UAS), invites audiences on June 11 to a place where fashion runways are not usually found. This time, the show will take place in St. John’s Church in Tartu (Tartu Jaani kirik) – a venue where imaginative fashion creates a rare dialogue with a historically meaningful environment.

For one evening, the historic church will transform into a living space of time, where past and present intersect. Rather than a traditional fashion show, Mood-Performance-Tants invites the audience on a journey through different layers of time. Collections unfold as fleeting moments, leaving traces and creating new narratives through fashion, sound, and movement.

Models move throughout the church, allowing visitors to experience the collections from multiple perspectives. Accompanying the performances is the Estonian duo Oopus, whose live improvised music responds to each collection, creating a unique atmosphere for every presentation. Together, the designers, performers, and musicians create an experience that does not seek to represent time but to make it tangible.

Mood-Performance-Tants features seven designers selected through a competition this year, alongside five graduates from the Department of Textile and the Department of Leather Design of Pallas University of Applied Sciences, who will present their graduation collections on stage.

The designers participating in Mood-Performance-Tants 2026 are:

  1. Eliise Sallaste “Arch Deco”. Department of Leather Design, supervisor Mari Masso.
  2. Grete Ottis “MINUS(ENESES)”. Department of Textile, supervisor Liisi Tamm.
  3. Christina Kasesalu “IgaPäevaElu Romantika”. Department of Textile, supervisor Kairi Lentsius.

  11. AAVIK “IN TRANSI”

Mood-Performance-Tants, the longest-running fashion show in Tartu organised by Pallas University of Applied Sciences, will be held for the 28th time this year. The show is also linked to the thesis defence at the university. It will present the graduate collections of the school’s design students and will be attended by the thesis evaluation committee. The graduates get the opportunity to showcase their work in a professionally staged fashion show. Mood-Performance-Tants is one of the fashion shows featured at the Estonian Fashion Festival.
