Mood-Performance-Tants 2025: Daring Fashion Met Historic Industrial Heritage

On June 12th, the historic premises of the Samelin shoe factory hosted Mood-Performance-Tants, a unique fashion show organized by Pallas University of Applied Sciences, presenting 13 colourful and playful collections. This special event brought together fashion design, performing arts, and music in an industrial setting — just before the factory relocates to a new location.

Directed by Jaanus Tepomees, the performance brought young and daring fashion design right into the heart of the production lines, highlighting both the space’s historical significance and fashion’s future potential. The show was accompanied by a live musical improvisation by Kadri Voorand and Mihkel Mälgand, and also featured actress Ingrid Isotamm on stage.

The performance offered the audience a rare chance to experience fashion in an environment not typically associated with it. It also marked the end of an era for the current Samelin production facility.

The 2025 show featured the following participants:

  • Mari Lemet – Eden.exe
  • Hanna-Maria Org – Ummamuudu lilled
  • Helen Vetik – Helmas
  • Brigitte Mihkelson – Kasvades Kihiliselt
  • Merilin Kask – Embellishment
  • Kristiin Kuuslap – Merevahu sosinad
  • Janika Autor – enne lendu
  • Jana Hanikova – Sõda&Rahu
  • Marite Rikkas – HARIKIRI
  • Marleen Afanasjev – Salme
  • India Kiisler – Tour de Office
  • Regita Lepla – Kandes elu
  • Karl Joonas Alamaa, Lisette Sivard – Lühike kergesisuline komöödia laulu ja tantsuga

The head organiser of Mood-Performance-Tants is Professor Aet Ollisaar, Head of the Textile Department at Pallas University of Applied Sciences. The show director is Pallas’s Chief Artist Madis Liplap, and backstage operations were led by Marta Tuulberg.

The production team extends heartfelt thanks to all participating designers, partners, sponsors, supporters, and volunteers. Special thanks go to the Samelin shoe factory for making it possible to host the show in such a unique and memorable location.

Mood-Performance-Tants is part of the Estonian Fashion Festival program, which brings together three Southern Estonian fashion events, including OmaMood and  Antonius Fashion Show.
