The CIRRUS Product Design Teachers Meeting took place on 15\u201317 April 2026 at Pallas University of Applied Sciences in Tartu, bringing together teachers and programme leaders from Sweden, Norway, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The aim of the meeting was to share teaching experiences, discuss challenges in design education, and explore opportunities for collaboration within the international network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Over the course of the three-day meeting, participants exchanged experiences and teaching practices, highlighting both shared challenges and diverse approaches to product design education. Alongside the discussions, participants also had the opportunity to experience Tartu \u2013 the programme began with a poster-printing workshop at TYPA, a printing and paper arts centre, and concluded with a visit to the Estonian National Museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Workshops and discussions brought forward several key topics, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n
future skills in product design<\/li>\n\n\n\n
integrating AI into design education<\/li>\n\n\n\n
social sustainability<\/li>\n\n\n\n
student motivation and mental wellbeing<\/li>\n\n\n\n
assessing quality and values in design<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
In addition, participants discussed ways to strengthen collaboration, including potential themes for joint workshops, the idea of organising a shared summer school, and involving teaching staff exchanges also in thesis evaluation committees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
